RESERVATIONS: F.A.Q.

Happy Hour:

  • We now take happy hour reservations between 3pm and 4:30! Happy hour reservations are held to a 2-hour table limit to make sure tables are available for dinner during the prime dinner hours. After 4:30, happy hour is a first-come/first-served affair.

  • Happy hour reservations must be made by phone: (503) 303-5280. Online reservations are not available.

  • Happy hour is served only to walk-in groups of 10 and fewer (no large walk-in groups) and to groups larger than 10 only if you’ve booked through Emily, our event planner (events@tavernonkruse.com).

  • Happy hour is only served on the patio (weather permitting) and in our bar area only - never in the dining room. Requests by guests with dining room reservations (“Regular” = Dining Room reservations via OpenTable) will result in the cancellation of the reservation upon guest arrival and guests will be put at the end of the wait list for a happy hour-suitable table if there is a wait. Please please please do not make reservations for happy hour in our dining room.

  • MINORS: Because Happy Hour is only available in the bar and on the patio, if it’s cold and rainy, there is no place for your minor to legally join you for happy hour.

Minors:

  • Minors are not legally allowed in our bar area (reservable as “high top” reservations via OpenTable) after 3:00pm. Minors are never allowed at the bar “bar” reservation via OpenTable.

  • Minors are legally allowed to sit in our bar area during lunch and brunch.

  • Minors may sit in our dining room (“standard” reservations on OpenTable), our patio (“outdoor” reservations), and at our chef’s counter.

  • Happy hour is served on the patio (in summer) and in our bar area (where minors are not legally permitted to sit after 3pm) only. If it’s cold and rainy, there is no place for your minor to legally join us for happy hour.

Dogs:

  • We excitedly welcome your pet onto our patio in the summer.

  • We are very strict about following the FDA and Health Department’s laws about “no pets indoors.”

  • We are amazed and delighted about welcoming LEGITIMATE service animals into the restaurant, where the ADA laws supersede the health code laws.  Per the Federal ADA Act: “There are no papers or certificates or uniforms that say “service animal” that can be considered in determining whether an animal is a pet or a service animal.” Further, “An animal which provides ‘comfort’ is not a legally-recognized service animal.” If your pet does not meet the FEDERAL ADA definition of “service animal,” we will not let your pet indoors.

Reservation Time Blocks:

Our OpenTable reservation system sets “time blocks” for parties of different sizes.  It allows about 20 minutes longer than the average amount of time a party of each size takes to enjoy dinner.  If you believe that your group will likely exceed the time blocks below, please call us ahead of time (503.303.5280) and we are happy to extend the time of your reservation.

  • 2 guests: 1hr 45min

  • 3-4 guests:  2hrs

  • 5-6 guests: 2 hrs 15 min

  • 7-8 guests: 2 hrs 30 min

  • 9+ guests: 2 hrs 45 min
